Seeing Is No Longer Believing

AI can now create realistic fake videos, audio recordings, and images of real people saying or doing things they never did. These are called deepfakes. They are becoming increasingly difficult to detect.

What Are Deepfakes?

Deepfakes use AI to create synthetic media — videos, audio, or images that appear real but are fabricated. They can make it look like a real person said or did something they never did.

Deepfake:AI-generated synthetic media that realistically depicts a real person saying or doing something they never did.

How to Spot Deepfakes

  • Unnatural blinking or eye movement
  • Inconsistent lighting or shadows
  • Blurry or distorted edges around the face
  • Unnatural skin texture or color
  • Audio that does not quite match lip movements
  • Inconsistencies in hair or jewelry
Verification Tools

Tools like InVID, FotoForensics, and reverse image search can help detect manipulated media. When in doubt about a video or image, check the original source.

The best defense against deepfakes is healthy skepticism and verification habits. Before sharing any video or image that seems shocking or surprising, verify it through reliable sources.
