- Find the original source of the claim
- Check what experts in the relevant field say
- Look for corroboration from multiple independent sources

Trace It Back
When you see a claim, try to trace it back to its original source. Many viral claims turn out to be misquotes, taken out of context, or completely fabricated when you trace them back.
Fact-checking takes practice, but it gets faster with experience. The most important habit is to pause before sharing and ask: "Do I actually know this is true?"
