Plan Before You Search
Good researchers do not just start searching randomly. They plan first: What do I already know? What do I need to find out? Where is the best place to look? This saves time and leads to better results.
The Research Process

Research Question:A specific, focused question that guides your research and helps you stay on track.
Writing a Good Research Question
A good research question is specific enough to be answerable but broad enough to find information about. "How does climate change affect polar bears?" is better than "Tell me about climate change" or "What is a polar bear?"
Use a KWL Chart
A KWL chart helps you organize research: K = What I Know, W = What I Want to know, L = What I Learned. Fill it in before, during, and after your research.
